Golkowski Lab for Chemical Systems Biology
University of Utah | College of Pharmacy & Huntsman Cancer Institute
We are an interdisciplinary team of medicinal and analytical chemists, molecular biologists, and pharmacologists, that seeks to improve the prognosis and therapeutics for deadly metastatic and treatment-resistant cancers, particularly hepatobiliary cancers. Specifically, our research program integrates quantitative mass spectrometry (MS), chemical biology, and molecular biology methods to develop cutting-edge proteomics technologies; we apply these technologies to systematically map the cell signaling networks that drive cancer phenotypic plasticity and therapy resistance. A deep, system-level understanding of these networks is critical to illuminate the molecular mechanisms of cancer initiation and progression, and to identify novel biomarkers and drug targets.
In our Lab, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are the key to our members’ well-being, creativity, and productivity, which makes our lab what it is: an interdisciplinary and multi-cultural hub of learning and scientific discovery.
